Help Us Give Hope
At Hope House, we operate on the belief that poverty, food insecurity, inequality, health, and community are all interconnected. By providing programs that address these challenges together, we create pathways to stability, opportunity, and belonging. Stories like this remind us that the support we provide can have lasting effects, helping people get back on their feet and, eventually, pay it forward.
Every dollar raised helps us continue this work, providing not just food, but dignity, connection, and hope. Through the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers, we can make a real, lasting impact on the lives of those in our community.
Hope Lives
At Hope House, we see the whole person, not just their circumstances. This chart highlights the diversity of the community members who access our programs. It’s a powerful reminder that food insecurity affects people from all walks of life, and that support must meet them where they are.
"I appreciate the support and work of Hope House during my months of layoff from work. I would like to say thank you for your support and sensitivity with people who need help in times of crisis (with inflation, high rent). Fortunately, I found a job and I can give the opportunity to others who need support."

Hope Works
At Hope House, our Free Tax Clinic is more than numbers, it’s about people, stories, and possibilities. Each year, thousands of community members come to us unsure of where to start. Some are newcomers navigating Canada’s tax system for the first time. Others are returning clients hoping to claim what they’re owed.
From February 24 to May 31, 2025, our volunteers helped 1,198 people file their 2024 taxes and 528 file for previous years. Together, we helped clients access over $4.47 million in refunds and benefits, money that goes back into families, homes, and futures.
But the impact doesn’t stop at tax forms. Many clients become volunteers, sharing the knowledge and care they received. Volunteers become coordinators. Newcomers find a sense of belonging and confidence. What begins as a simple appointment becomes a ripple of empowerment. Today’s recipients of care becoming tomorrow’s caregivers. Filing taxes is just the beginning of a much bigger story.
