Information Session and Tours

Hope House invites you to come for a tour to learn the history and inside scoop on all that we offer in this magnificent facility, meet staff and volunteers, and see what it is like to be on this incredible team!

Hope House depends greatly on its volunteers to power our programs & services. To ensure smooth operations, we require volunteers who can be available for the same shift each week, for a minimum of 3 months.

Hope House Volunteer Roles

  • Do you love working in the kitchen? We have some teams you could join. We have a daily morning food production team and Better Food Co opportunities once a month.

You can find the Better Food Co. signup link here: VOLUNTEER

  • The Cafe serves coffee, tea and fruit during operating hours. The cafe host serves the beverages and cleans up the cafe. It is a role that requires a friendly individual who wants to engage with Community Members.

  • Ease Into Work is a program for people who are interested in gaining work experience and developing skills in a supportive environment! We have monthly gatherings on the 2nd Thursday of each month, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm here at Hope House and we are in need of volunteers to serve a meal and clean up afterwards.

  • This volunteer position requires an individual to be able to drive to our farm and do manual labour such as weeding and picking our produce. This produce is then brought to the Hope House Food Market to be used by our community.

  • Hope House offers a free Income Tax Program through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) under the Canada Revenue Agency. We are always in need of volunteers to be part of this program by doing taxes.

  • This volunteer position requires an individual to stock shelves, sort through donated clothing and assist community members in finding the right pieces of clothing for them.

  • The Senior Market Support vounteer assists at the various markets around town. This individual needs to be able to drive and lift produce boxes. This volunteer sets up a market and then interacts with community members who are taking part.

  • This volunteer role is critical to the running of Hope House. For this role you must have computer skills and amazing people sense. You will be booking appointments, checking in Community Members, answering the phone and many questions about Hope House. Is you are ready for some fast paced fun, then this role might be for you.
